In my screencast I was attempting to avoid redundancy by using a tool (Google Earth) that most people are familiar with, and keeping it simple by not including anything but the screen and my voice to teach the tutorial using Screencastify. This also tied into the modality principal by not showing additional images, diagrams etc. on the screen at the same time.  I tried to go through the tutorial at a pace fast enough to continue to keep the learners attention, but also thought about segmenting in order for the learner to not be overwhelmed with the pace of learning. The speed of the video can also allow for a follow along learning opportunity. The pre-learning principal could have been improved before getting into the tutorial. I felt I did not introduce the basics at the start of the tutorial. In the past I have put too much text, and learning about the modality principal will aid in presenting material moving forward.
